Food and experience was authentically Korean! Love it!!! Several appetizers - I enjoyed trying what I am told acorn jelly! Have patience in the wait but broth hit the spot!

Really good food and authentic, I definitely recommend their noodles and tasty starter dishes! Service is excellent from very friendly servers in a joyful and laid back environment. Don't miss this spot!

Sam gye tang was great! I'd also try their kong guksu. Spacious interior. Authentic Korean food experience.

Do you know what's "Sam Gye Tang"? If you don't know what it is, why don't you go Google it and eat here. You will never go eat chicken soup again when you're sick

DEVOURED our food here at Myung Dong! Don't let this hole in the wall fool you. You know this place is delicious when local Koreans come in here during their lunch break. It may be 80 degrees at 10 am, but that didn't stop us from ordering soup. Samgae Tang tasted like warm hug you didn't know you needed. Bibimbap was so fresh as if they get the vegetables from a garden in the back. LOL! We were treated with kindness from beginning to end! Can't wait to come back!

i love this place! such a hole in the wall gem and the owner is such a sweetheart! I got the chicken ginseng stew and it was so filling and good for the soul!

The first bite of soup + rice cakes with my tteok guk order was the epitome of a warm grandmother's hug. That soup can solve all of my life's problems in one bite and help me forget all the silly things I was worried about. There's just something about this soup that melts my anxieties away... I sound dramatic, but I'm writing this review 2 months late and my mood isn't great today - the first thing I thought to myself was, "You know what'd cure this sadness? A bowl of tteokguk from Myung Dong." The soup hits all the right spots in what my taste buds define as good soup! Clear broth, not too oily, lil bits of meat, soft rice cakes, and soft scrambled eggs. Love at first bite. If I were to come back to LA again, this would be the first thing I'd want to eat. Also, vibes are immaculate. You *know* it's good when the Korean grannies and gramps are their customer base! We went right before lunch and were surprised to see how quickly the restaurant filled up shortly after we had arrived. Myung Dong looks unassuming, but truly the soup here is so delicious.

This is the absolutely hidden gem. When you walk in it's a bit run down and barely anyone was sitting inside except a few ahjussis sitting in their own eating their meal in pure silence. This is how you know it's good. Ahjussis don't care for the glitz and glamour, they want the real deal and this restaurant is one of them. We got the dumplings and they were very well steamed, the cold black soybean noodles were so refreshing and thick, the beejee soup was perfectly blended with chunks of kimchi and pork. Banchan was also very good! In the short hour that we ate, there were at least 5-6 to-go orders from many Korean families of all ages. I believe this place is one of those hole in the wall only the Koreans know.
